Class Happenings:

Please remember to wear your PE uniform with solid black or white athletic shoes on your PE day.
Please check the weather forecast and dress children appropriately on PE days.
Please practice tying shoe laces with young students developing this skill.
Water bottles are welcome on PE days as long as students are responsible with the water through out the day.
Please label all jackets and water bottles with your child's name.

A Note from Mrs Leone:

Thank to all our St Ann students for a great start to the PE school year. All I ask from my students is to “do your best”, have a positive mental attitude (PMA) and practice good sportsmanship. Together we will have fun enjoying movement, games and sports.

Saint Ann’s Catholic School
Physical Education Grading Policy

PHILOSOPHY

Physical education is an integral component of total Catholic education. To lead a productive life, students must be physically fit and understand the importance of maintaining physical fitness. Students develop skills and behaviors that enable them to participate in co-operative games, learn to practice socially acceptable behaviors, and respect diversity. Physical activities offer an opportunity for students to attain success and self-esteem in a positive manner. Through Physical Education a student can appreciate that sound development of the mind and body are ways of becoming a happy fulfilled child of God.

During PE students are encouraged to "do your best", have a positive mental attitude (PMA) and practice good sportsmanship.

ELEMENTARY: Pre K – 5th Grade
Grades are based on participation during class. PE teacher observes children engaged in class activity – on task. A daily participation grade will be given and averaged to obtain a 9 weeks grade.
