LABOR DAY

School is closed on September 3rd and 6th in recognition of this holiday.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS

In order for a kindergartner or 6th grader to remain in school this year, parents must provide documentation of students having received the required immunization. Many of you have yet to submit this verification to the office. Please do so

LUNCH ORDERS

Since next week is a holiday week and schools are closed on Monday, all lunch forms and money is due to Mrs. Dabbs on Tuesday morning, the 7th.

REVISED CALENDAR

A new events calendar is being sent home with students this week. While additional events have not been added to the original, there is a couple of date errors in the one originally distributed. Please replace the original with the one that you receive this week.

"LIGHTS..CAMERA..AUCTION"

Donations are now being accepted for our 7th annual "Lights..Camera..Auction". All funds raised by this event go directly back into to the school for the benefit of our children. Last year, the PTO was able to provide 22 new computers for use in the Computer Lab. This year we are planning to upgrade the school library. In order to make this happen, the PTO needs your help. If you can assist with any of the following tasks, please contact our Auction Chair, Carole Taitt (910) 630-0636 or ctaitt@nc.rr.com

a) Set-up and clear down (set up Friday pm, Sat am and after auction Sat pm)
b) Prize procurement (contact businesses and local merchants for prizes)
c) Marketing (contact local media, church bulletins, distribute flyers)
d) Refreshments (procure donations of food/beverages, assist with setup/serve)

VOLUNTEER HOURS

Thanks so much to those of you who have already begun to donate your 10 hours. We are especially grateful to those who are regularly donating their time to the Pre-K class. Mrs. Herring has loads of help! Note to all volunteers in every capacity: Remember to log your hours in the book for that purpose just outside the office.

SKATE NIGHT

The first "skate night" of the year will be at Round-A-Bout on Wednesday, September 15th at 5:30 p.m. Please remember that this is a regular fundraiser for the school. It is a great family night to which everyone looks forward each month. (The Golden Skate Award is given to the class with the most attendees.)
